The Royal Marines Club is honoured to bring together Chris Stone ML and Capt. Rod Boswell to present an informal lecture on the Raid on Top Malo House.
The Raid was fought on 31st May 1982 during the Falklands War, between 1st Assault Section Argentine Special Forces from 602 Commando Company and a patrol formed from staff and trainees of the British Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre, under the Control of 3 Commando Brigade.
Led by Capt. Rod Boswell, eighteen Royal Marines took the Argentine position after a fierce firefight. The Raid on Top Malo House was an important step in clearing Argentine observation posts ahead of the main British advance. Later studies put the victory down to the Royal Marines’ superior training and ingenuity.
This is a very special opportunity to hear about the events of that day firsthand from Capt. Rod Boswell himself and Chris Stone ML who was badly wounded in the attack. The lecture has only been given once before on The Royal Marines Clubs’ Winter Deployment. It may never be given again.
An engaging and entertaining evening awaits with drinks until 11am at the bar. All proceeds will go towards the Club’s Winter Deployment to Norway in 2020.
