HPD sponsors The Director's Commando Challenge

Being part of the Club gives businesses the opportunity to get involved with sponsoring and supporting fundraising events.

This year, on the 18th of June 2017, The Director’s Commando Challenge was sponsored and supported by High Performance Development.

A great day was had by all and a good chunk of money was raised for The Royal Marines Charity.

No LIMBITS

The Royal Marines Club supports Mark Ormrod with No Limbits.

In 2007, Mark Ormrod became the first surviving British triple amputee during the conflict in Afghanistan while serving as a Royal Marines Commando.

At 24yrs old whilst recovering in hospital Mark was told that he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair & need to employ a full time carer. After the initial shock of that news Mark decided that he wasn't going to let someone else's opinion become his reality & set about proving those people wrong in a massive way.

Working with former Royal Marine, turned photographer/film-maker, Matt Elliott, they now intend on producing a full length documentary showing all aspects of Mark's life and his incredible journey over the last 9 years.

The film will cover Marks story of his injuries, how he overcame them, how he threw away his wheelchair on June 9th 2009 & went on to become a Husband, a Father of 3, a motivational speaker, a gym owner, a sponsored athlete, an author, a celebrated fundraiser, a mentor, a coach & a whole host of other areas of his life.

The filming will take place over a 12 month period and all funding will go towards equipment costs, production and expenses. This is a non-profit venture.

The Royal Marines Club has supported Mark with a £500 donation.
